At the beginning of the lesson of Information and Communication Technology, there are several questions revolved around my head. The important one is, what this course will be all about? Since we are majoring in biology, it makes me wonder what have biology got to do with technology since the meaning of biology is literally taken from the Greek word which means the study of life. Therefore I really fascinated and excited to know how technology was applied in its field of knowledge.
I sat in my first class, waiting for our lecturer to come. He is Mr. Azmi bin Ibrahim. Mr. Azmi introduced us about first, the technology. He explained to us how technology evolved and was implemented gradually in the education system. In Malaysia, the effort to implement technology has been going around for almost 30 years in 2020. This shocked me because it can be considered as quite new and we have developed so much in the past years. Appreciation from me, to all of the organizations and our government, that makes so much effort in this part of the matter.
Mr. Azmi tells us that when he was teaching us, he was hoping that future educator, us, can not only teach but to also use what that have been provided as teaching materials. The technology that has been implemented in schools was encouraged to be used by the students but, the teachers also play an important role in guiding them to use it as it was meant. For us, an educational student, it is important to know how we can use technology in schools in the future so that it won't be a waste for us and the students.
